Quick Answer#

Yes. Halloween: The Game supports crossplay across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store. Official Patch 1.0.1 notes say the team addressed a matchmaking issue that could remove cross-play party members or return them to the main menu during Early Access.

This confirms product support and a named launch fix. It does not guarantee that every platform pair, region, account, or current server session will always complete a match without problems.

Last checked: September 9, 2026. Named patch: 1.0.1.

Supported Platforms#

PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, macOS, and Linux are not part of the announced launch set. That is not a permanent exclusion statement about future releases.

Patch 1.0.1#

IllFonic’s September 8 launch article identifies 1.0.1 as the Day One Patch. Its crossplay note says party members should follow their leader into a matchmade lobby instead of being kicked to the main menu or dropped from the party.

The wording matters: this is evidence that the developer addressed a specific Early Access matchmaking problem. It is not a measured success rate, an all-pairs certification, or a promise that no other invite, account, network, or server issue exists.

Friend Codes#

A retained Xbox interface capture showed controls labelled Crossplay, Enter Friend Code, a code field, and Send Request. It also showed an Xbox player in a party with a PC player whose storefront could not be identified.

Those observations support the existence of a friend-code path, but not an identical button layout on PS5 and PC. They also do not prove a complete request → acceptance → party → public/private match sequence on every platform combination.

Cross-Progression#

Crossplay and cross-progression are different:

In the July 14, 2026 developer Q&A retained by the research package, the team said there were no current plans for cross-progression. That is a dated plan statement, not a permanent technical impossibility. No separate first-party cross-save confirmation was found in the checked material.

FAQ#

Can PS5 and Xbox players play together?

Both platforms are included in the official crossplay scope. Patch 1.0.1 addressed a cross-play party matchmaking issue, but the sources do not provide a permanent live reliability guarantee.

Can Steam and Epic players join console players?

Steam and Epic are included alongside PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in the announced crossplay platform set.

Was crossplay broken at launch?

The official notes identify a specific Early Access matchmaking problem and say Patch 1.0.1 addressed it. That is narrower than claiming the entire crossplay system was universally broken.

Does crossplay include shared progression?

No such conclusion follows. The developer’s July Q&A said there were no current cross-progression plans at that time.

Does the site guarantee crossplay is working now?

No. The page reports official capability and the named 1.0.1 fix. Live service health must be checked separately.
