Halloween: The Game Characters and Playable Roster
The confirmed roster includes Michael Myers and 10 Standard Edition Civilians. Digital Deluxe adds Richard Hawthorne and Alexis Purcell, but edition access and immediate character selection are not the same thing.

Quick Answer#
Halloween: The Game has 10 playable Civilians in the Standard Edition. Michael Myers is the playable Killer and is counted separately. Digital Deluxe or the Deluxe Upgrade adds two more Civilians—Richard Hawthorne and Alexis Purcell—for players with that entitlement.
A September 4, 2026 interface recording directly showed at least Eric Dunn, Rachel Calahan, Tanya Harrison, and Marcus Navarro as selectable. The same recording showed profile-level prompts for Jennifer, Thomas, Lynda, Bob, and Annie. Because the recording did not identify its platform, build number, or clean-account state, it does not establish the exact default-unlocked lineup for every new player.

For the launch context behind this roster, see the 2026 status guide. Edition-specific characters and cosmetics are separated in the Collector’s Edition guide, while the Dead by Daylight comparison explains how the two games’ character scopes differ.
Confirmed Roster#
The safest way to read the roster is to keep Killer, Standard Civilians, Deluxe additions, non-player residents, and conditional story characters in separate groups.
| Group | Confirmed characters | What the evidence supports |
|---|---|---|
| Playable Killer | Michael Myers | Player-controlled in the single-player story and the Killer in multiplayer |
| Standard Civilians | Eric Dunn, Rachel Calahan, Tanya Harrison, Marcus Navarro, Jennifer Aarons, Thomas Armitage, Lynda van der Klok, Bob Simms, Annie Brackett, Laurie Strode | Ten playable Civilians included with Standard Edition |
| Digital Deluxe additions | Richard Hawthorne, Alexis Purcell | Added by Digital Deluxe or the Deluxe Upgrade |
| Non-player residents | Haddonfield residents | Civilians warn and escort residents during multiplayer; residents are not extra roster characters |
| Conditional story appearances | Sheriff’s Deputy, Dr. Samuel J. Loomis | Appear in official story material; that does not make them confirmed selectable characters |
This produces a confirmed playable pool of Michael plus 10 Standard Civilians, or Michael plus 12 Civilians when the two Deluxe additions are included. It should not be rewritten as “13 characters included in Standard,” because Richard and Alexis belong to a separate entitlement.
Michael Myers
Michael is not one of the 10 Civilians. In the six-chapter single-player story, he is the player-controlled character. In the 1v4 multiplayer mode, one player takes the Killer role as Michael while four players become Civilians.
His skins and color tints are appearances for one character, not separate roster entries. This guide therefore keeps cosmetic variants out of its character total.
Standard and Deluxe Civilians
The Standard launch roster names Eric, Rachel, Tanya, Marcus, Jennifer, Thomas, Lynda, Bob, Annie, and Laurie. Richard and Alexis are two separate Digital Deluxe additions. Their character access should not be confused with Deluxe cosmetic benefits, including advance access to Laurie’s Final Girl appearance.
Roles by Mode#
The same name can have different participation rules in story and multiplayer. “Appears in the story” does not automatically mean “player-controlled in the story.”
| Character or group | Single-player story | 1v4 multiplayer |
|---|---|---|
| Michael Myers | Player-controlled lead | Player-controlled Killer |
| Eric, Rachel, Tanya, Marcus, Jennifer, Thomas | No complete role-by-role story control record in the retained evidence | Playable Civilians |
| Lynda, Bob, Annie, Laurie | Interactive story appearances, but not identified as player-controlled story characters | Playable Civilians |
| Richard, Alexis | No supported story-control claim | Playable Civilians with Digital Deluxe or Deluxe Upgrade access |
| Haddonfield residents | Story context varies | Non-player residents whom Civilians can warn and escort |
| Sheriff’s Deputy, Dr. Loomis | Conditional story appearances | Not confirmed as selectable multiplayer characters |
The distinction matters because the game’s two headline experiences have different goals. Story mode follows Michael across six chapters. Multiplayer gives the Civilian team objectives tied to Haddonfield’s residents and randomized exits.
Access and Unlocks#
Edition inclusion tells you which roster an account can ultimately access; it does not prove every included character is selectable at profile level one.
The retained September 4 UI observation supports these limited facts:
- Eric Dunn, Rachel Calahan, Tanya Harrison, and Marcus Navarro were directly visible as selectable in the recorded account state.
- Jennifer Aarons showed a profile-level 5 prompt.
- Thomas Armitage showed profile level 10.
- Lynda van der Klok showed profile level 25.
- Bob Simms showed profile level 40.
- Annie Brackett showed profile level 55.
Those values are observations from one unidentified-platform recording. They are not a universal unlock schedule, and the footage does not prove that only four characters start selectable.
Laurie is part of the Standard roster. Digital Deluxe grants advance access to her Final Girl cosmetic, not exclusive access to Laurie herself. The evidence did not establish the non-Deluxe threshold for that cosmetic or Laurie’s exact initial selectable state on every Standard account.
Traits and Customization#
Official material says Civilians have individual stats and Signature Traits. It also describes progression and customization systems, including a Civilian Perk Deck. The retained sources do not provide a complete, verified table of every character’s stat values, Signature Trait names, balance tier, or best build.
That means this roster can identify who is included and how access is divided, but it cannot support a full tier list. Any ranking would require a new, version-specific evidence pass.
Skins and tints are also kept separate from characters. Michael’s appearance variants do not create additional Michael roster entries, and Laurie’s Final Girl cosmetic does not turn her into a Deluxe-exclusive character.
Credited Performers#
The character announcements identify these performer relationships:
| Character | Credited performer | Credit type |
|---|---|---|
| Bob Simms | Nicholas Leung | Voice |
| Lynda van der Klok | Angela Carbone | Voice |
| Annie Brackett | Kaitlyn Robrock | Voice |
| Laurie Strode | Chelsea Krause | Voice |
| Michael Myers | Nick Castle | Motion capture / performance |
| Michael Myers | TJ Storm | Motion / performance collaboration |
This table is intentionally limited to credits stated in the retained official material. Missing names should not be interpreted as uncredited work or proof that no performer exists.
How to Read the Roster#
- Start with your edition: Standard includes 10 Civilians; Digital Deluxe or the Deluxe Upgrade adds Richard and Alexis.
- Count Michael separately from the Civilian total.
- Separate “included with an edition” from “immediately selectable on a new account.”
- Treat recorded level prompts as a dated account-state observation, not a permanent universal rule.
- Keep skins, tints, residents, and story appearances out of the playable-character count unless official evidence explicitly changes their status.
FAQ#
How many playable Civilians are confirmed?
Ten are included with Standard Edition. Richard Hawthorne and Alexis Purcell raise the Civilian pool to 12 for Digital Deluxe or Deluxe Upgrade owners.
